I’m so excited to announce I'm running for DISTRICT 1 CITY COUNCIL. I’ve been busy the last couple of years, and to introduce myself I’d like to share what I’ve been up to:
- No Rezone – I worked alongside the group that ended up influencing the City Council to vote against rezoning the golf courses to allow housing to be built on the land.
- Measure L – I was a member of the Alliance team that educated the community and drove a record high 40% voter turnout to a special election and we BEAT the developer at the ballot box 71-29%.
- Oil & Gas Drilling – I organized a group of over 700+ people to write letters to Contra Costa County that drove the county to put the project on hold and request that the applicant carry out an Environmental Impact Review to be completed by October.
- Bridle Gate – Educated the community regarding the developer's request for a rezone and worked to increase local involvement in Brentwood projects. Planning Commission rejected the project unanimously 5-0.
- City Council Meetings - I regularly attend City Council meetings and pressure the council and mayor to do what is in the best interest for residents, not special-interest.
There is a lot of work to do across all of Brentwood and I am prepared to influence the City Agenda to focus on resident issues:
- Jobs – work to bring jobs to Brentwood that provide livable wages to our residents.
- Homes – we have a General Plan with an optimal mix. Let’s stick to the plan!
- Emergency Services – partner with all agencies and leave no stone unturned to fund fire and keep us safe.
- Budget – ensure fiscal responsibility in light of reduced tax revenue to due to Covid-19.
- Police - Our police department has been working with the same number of officers for many years, while our population has grown exponentially. Covid has impacted funding and it is important that we find revenue sources to fund the 5th beat.
