What is Smart Growth?

The buzz word in Brentwood this election cycle: SMART GROWTH

All the candidates say they're for "Smart Growth", but not all of them define that term the same way. A few of them certainly don't have a track record of voting for or supporting Smart Growth in Brentwood, but are now jumping on the bandwagon.
